According to the legislation of the Republic of Armenian children of unmarried parents have the same rights as children of married parents. They have, especially, the right to receive financial support from their parents, to inherit their property, to receive social benefits, and so on.

According to the general rule, one can apply for the Armenian citizenship if he/she is over 18, is legally capable, during last 3 years resided in Armenia on the legal bases /holds Armenian residency/, can be expressed in Armenian and is familiar with the Constitution of the Republic of Armenia.
