Why is it important to report corruption?

What guarantees does the law provide for the whistleblower?
- Non-disclosure of identity. According to Article 11 of the RA Law on the Whistleblowing System, the non-disclosure of the whistleblower's personal data is guaranteed when submitting an anonymous report. Moreover, the competent authority is prohibited from taking measures to disclose the identity of the anonymous whistleblower.
- Protection from persecution. The whistleblower has the right to the confidentiality of their personal data and protection from harmful actions and their consequences.
- Important legal guarantee: The burden of proving the legality of actions or inactions taken against the whistleblower lies with the respondent.
- Legal assistance. The whistleblower has the right to receive confidential advice and legal assistance from the Human Rights Defender.
